A very beautiful 13-piece ice cream service from the Puiforcat company, in vermeil. From the model called "Russian Laurel", circa 1870, referring to the shape and ornamentation of the handles.

This service and model are reproduced and described in the work of David Allan, Le couvert et la coutellerie de table française du XIXe siècle , p.212 & 396.

Service à glace en vermeil, Puiforcat, 1890,

Service à glace de 13 pièces en argent massif et en vermeil, réalisé par Emile Puiforcat vers 1890.
Il se sompose de 12 cuillères à glace et d’une cuillère de service.
Modèle appelé «Russe Laurier», décrit et reproduits dans l’ouvrage de David ALLAN :
Le couvert et la coutellerie de table française au XIXème siècle, p.212 & p.396.

Les manches dit «à la Russe», de style Néoclassique sont ornementés d’une lianne de fleurs de lauriers courant sur toute la longueur des tiges. Les spatules sont ornées de feuilles de lauriers de type Néoclassique. Les cuillerons sont ciselés d’un motif de branche de laurier maintenus par un délicat et discret rubans.
