Magnificent set of solid silver oyster forks by the renowned Victor Boivin, in their original case, described and reproduced in the book by David Allan, Le couvert et la coutellerie de table française au XIXe siècle , p.323.

 

Magnificent set of 12 oyster forks, by the renowned Victor Boivin, in their original case.

In the Louis XV style, the handles are decorated with plant motifs, leafy scrolls and lilies of the valley.

Monogram “AL” on the bottom of the plugs.

Described and reproduced in the work of David ALLAN,

French tableware and cutlery in the 19th century, plate No. 18, p. 323

Made of solid silver, hallmarked with the Minerva 1st standard mark.

Micro-scratches are present due to age and use.

Service de 12 fourchettes à huîtres dans son écrin d'origine, réalisé par Victor Boivin entre 1881 et 1897.

De style Louis XV, les manches sont à décor de motifs végétaux, de rinceaux feuillagés et de muguets.

Monogramme « AL » sur le bas des prises.
